Antoine-Cesar Becquerel
Antoine-César Becquerel (born March 7, 1788, and died January 18, 1878) was a prominent French physicist. Considered the father of electrochemistry and a pioneer in the study of electricity and magnetism, his discovery of the photovoltaic cell in 1839 laid the fundamental groundwork for the modern development of solar energy.
