Wang Yi

Wang Yi (b. 1953) is the Director of the Foreign Affairs Commission and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Fluent in Japanese and an accomplished career diplomat, he is the architect of China’s assertive foreign policy. Known for his firm rhetoric and pragmatism, he is Beijing’s face in navigating complex tensions with the West and expanding Chinese influence in the Global South.
