Cais do Sodré Railway Station Disaster

The reinforced concrete roof of the platforms at the Cais do Sodré railway station in Lisbon collapses catastrophically over hundreds of passengers awaiting trains on the Cascais line. The disaster caused 49 deaths and dozens of injuries, resulting in one of the most serious structural accidents in the capital's history.
