Gibalta Tragedy

On March 31, 1952, a tragic landslide caused a train derailment on the Cascais Line, near the Gibalta Lighthouse in Lisbon. The disaster claimed 10 lives and injured 38 others, becoming etched in national railway memory as the Gibalta Tragedy.
