Stefan Banach

Stefan Banach (born March 30, 1892, and died August 31, 1945) was an extraordinary Polish mathematician. Considered one of the greatest intellects of the 20th century, he founded modern functional analysis and developed the theory of topological vector spaces (Banach spaces), profoundly revolutionizing pure mathematics.
