Rosa Bonheur

Rosa Bonheur (born March 16, 1822, and died May 25, 1899) was an acclaimed French realist painter. A pioneer and revolutionary in the representation of animalier painting with works like "The Horse Fair", she was the first woman to be awarded the French National Order of the Legion of Honour.
