Robert Burns Woodward

Robert Burns Woodward (born April 10, 1917, and died July 8, 1979) was one of the greatest chemists of the 20th century. Winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1965, he revolutionized science with his syntheses of complex organic substances, including quinine (antimalarial), cholesterol, cortisone, and vitamin B12.
