Pietro Mennea

Pietro Mennea (born June 28, 1952, and died March 21, 2013) was an extraordinary Italian sprinter and politician. Known as "The Arrow of the South", he became an Olympic champion and held the 200-meter world record for nearly two decades, a historic feat in European athletics.
