Dry Cell Battery Patent

German scientist Carl Gassner obtained the pioneering patent for the first "dry cell" battery, using zinc encased in a sealed receptacle. His invention eliminated the risk of chemical spillage and was the catalyst that allowed the creation of portable electric lights and thousands of everyday devices.
