Departure of the Luanda Paquete with Political Prisoners

On October 18, 1936, the Luanda liner left Lisbon transporting political prisoners to the Tarrafal Concentration Camp, in Cape Verde, marking the beginning of one of the most repressive periods of the Salazar regime.
