Orhan Pamuk
Orhan Pamuk, Turkish writer. Awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2006, being the first Turkish writer to receive this distinction. His works explore themes such as cultural identity, the clash between tradition and modernity, and the history of Istanbul. Among his most acclaimed novels are "My Name is Red" (2001), which won the Dublin IMPAC Literature Prize, "Snow" (2004) and "Istanbul: Memoirs of a City" (2005). His books have been translated into more than 60 languages and have sold millions of copies around the world.
