UN recognizes PAIGC as the legitimate representative of Guinea-Bissau

On October 16, 1973, the UN General Assembly recognized the PAIGC as the legitimate representative of the people of Guinea-Bissau, condemning the Portuguese colonial occupation and reinforcing support for the country's independence.
