Liturgical solemnity of Saint Augustine of Canterbury, a Benedictine monk sent by Pope Gregory I to lead the evangelization of Britain. He became the first Archbishop of Canterbury and the "Apostle of the English", playing a structural role in the Christian unification of the British Isles.
