Mariano Gago

José Mariano Gago (born May 16, 1948, and died April 17, 2015) was an eminent Portuguese physicist and politician. As Minister of Science, he was the visionary architect of the modernization of the national scientific system and the democratization of access to scientific culture in Portugal.
