Marco Paulo, Portuguese popular singer. Born in Mourão, Alentejo, as João Simão da Silva, he became one of Portugal's most popular and beloved singers, with a career that spanned more than five decades. Known for his unmistakable voice and emotional interpretations, he popularized hits such as "Eu Tem Dois Amores", "Maravilhoso Coração" and "Ninguém, Nobody". Throughout his career, he released more than 60 albums and received several gold and platinum records. His regular presence on Portuguese television helped to consolidate his popularity among several generations. Marco Paulo left an indelible mark on Portuguese light music, being considered an ambassador of popular song. He passed away in Lisbon on October 24, 2024, aged 79.
