Manuel da Fonseca

Manuel da Fonseca, Portuguese neorealist writer. Author of important works such as "Cerromaior" and "O Fogo e as Cinzas", he was a central figure of Portuguese literary neorealism. His writings critically portray social reality, particularly the lives of Alentejo rural workers, with remarkable authenticity and expressive power. He died in Lisbon, Portugal, on March 13, 1993, he was 82 years old.
