Launch of PoSAT-1

On September 26, 1993, PoSAT-1, the first Portuguese satellite, was successfully launched aboard an Ariane 4 rocket from French Guiana. Developed by a consortium of Portuguese universities and companies, PoSAT-1's main mission was to carry out scientific and technological experiments, including capturing images of the Earth and satellite communication. This launch marked the beginning of Portugal's participation in the space age.
