Jean Monnet

Jean Monnet (born November 9, 1888, and died March 16, 1979) was an illustrious French economist and diplomat. Considered one of the founding architects of the European Union, his pragmatic vision of integration through the European Coal and Steel Community established the critical foundation for peace and cooperation on the post-war continent.
