Inauguration of the Lisbon Zoo at Laranjeiras

Under the strong institutional sponsorship of illustrious figures such as King Fernando II, zoologist Barbosa do Bocage, and doctor Sousa Martins, the Lisbon Zoo is inaugurated at Quinta das Laranjeiras. The space established itself as the first park with fauna and flora on the Iberian Peninsula, becoming a national landmark for conservation and leisure.
