Inauguration of the Vasco da Gama Bridge

On March 29, 1998, the Vasco da Gama Bridge was officially inaugurated in Lisbon, weeks before Expo'98. With a length of over 12 kilometers, this monumental engineering feat became one of the largest and most vital viaducts in Europe.
