Abrilada Coup (1961)

The so-called "Abrilada" takes place, an attempted coup d'état led by the Minister of National Defense, General Júlio Botelho Moniz. The objective of removing Salazar failed, resulting in a swift government reshuffle where the dictator directly assumed the Defense portfolio.
