Gabriela Mistral

Gabriela Mistral (born April 7, 1889, and died January 10, 1957) was an illustrious Chilean poet, educator, and diplomat. With immortal works such as "Desolación", she became the first Latin American woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1945.
