Foundation of the Islamic Community of Lisbon

On March 16, 1968, the first associative steps that led to the official constitution of the Islamic Community of Lisbon (CIL) were consolidated. Founded by young university students from the former colonies, the institution became the historical pillar in the representation, integration, and defense of the religious identity of Muslims in Portugal.
