Michael Peter Balzary, known worldwide as Flea (b. 1962), is a virtuoso Australian-American bassist. Co-founder of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, his complex, visceral, and funk-anchored bass lines constitute the backbone of the group's unmistakable sound.
