Fausto Bordalo Dias

Fausto Bordalo Dias, Portuguese musician and composer. Known simply as Fausto, he was an unavoidable figure in Portuguese music, standing out for his unique style that mixed Portuguese musical traditions with influences from various parts of the world. Author of emblematic concept albums such as "Por Este Rio Acima" (1982), "Crónicas da Terra Ardente" (1994) and the "Lusitana Diáspora" trilogy. His work, strongly inspired by Portuguese history and culture, addressed themes such as the Discoveries, the diaspora and national identity. He was one of the most innovative and influential artists in contemporary Portuguese music, recognized for the poetic depth and musical complexity of his creations. He passed away on July 1, 2024, aged 75.
