Eugenio de Castro

Eugénio de Castro (born March 4, 1869, and died August 17, 1944) was a notable Portuguese poet and professor. Recognized as the main introducer of Symbolism in Portugal, his refined, musical writing with rich imagery marked a decisive break from the literary conventions of his time.
