Donald Tusk becomes President of the European Council

Donald Tusk (b. 1957) is one of the giants of contemporary European politics. After presiding over the European Council, he returned to Warsaw for the monumental challenge of uniting a vast centrist coalition, assuming the office of Prime Minister of Poland in a historic effort to strengthen the rule of law.
