World Beard Day is celebrated today, the first Saturday in September. This day pays homage to one of the most striking and symbolic masculine characteristics, being a day of celebration for bearded men. On this date, the bearded member of the family is usually spared from work and the activities carried out consist of meetings, parades, grills, best beard contests, beer festivals and fights between bearded and beardless men.
