Day of the Holy Martyrs of Sebaste

Commemoration of the Holy Martyrs of Sebaste, a group of forty Christian soldiers of the Roman army martyred around the year 320. Condemned to freeze to death in an icy lake for refusing to renounce their faith, their unwavering sacrifice and unity made them a universal symbol of Christian courage and devotion.
