Day dedicated to Saint Macarius of Jerusalem (died c. 335), an illustrious bishop of the Early Church. Venerated for his decisive role in the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and his firm opposition to the Arian heresy at the Council of Nicaea, he is a tutelary figure in the defense of Christian orthodoxy and the preservation of the Holy Places.
