Saint Joseph's Day and Father's Day

On March 19, the Catholic Church celebrates the solemnity of Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary and patron of the Universal Church. In Portugal and several other countries with a Catholic tradition, this liturgical date was adopted to celebrate Father's Day, honoring the father figure, family bonds, and the structural role of fatherhood in society.
