Day of Saint Deogratias

Liturgical celebration of Saint Deogratias (died March 22, 457), Bishop of Carthage. His pastoral courage and unsurpassed dedication were immortalized when he sold the sacred vessels of the Church to ransom and shelter thousands of Christian captives brought from Rome by the Vandal invaders.
