Discovery of the planet Neptune

On September 23, 1846, the planet Neptune was observed for the first time by astronomer Johann Galle at the Berlin Observatory. It was the first planet discovered through complex mathematical predictions, calculated by Urbain Le Verrier and John Couch Adams, rather than direct empirical observation.
