D. João V (The Magnanimous)

D. João V (born October 22, 1689, and died July 31, 1750) was the twenty-fourth King of Portugal. Known as "The Magnanimous", his long reign was marked by monarchical absolutism, opulence financed by Brazilian gold, and monumental works such as the Palace of Mafra.
