King Filipe III of Portugal and IV of Spain (born April 8, 1605, and died September 17, 1665) was the last monarch of the Philippine Dynasty. His reign, marked by heavy fiscal aggravation, catalyzed national discontent and the Restoration of Independence in 1640.
