Anniversary of the creation of the Ministry of Agriculture

On March 9, 1918, the Ministry of Agriculture was formally created in Portugal, during the government of Sidónio Pais. The institution took on a central role in defining and developing structural policies vital for the country's agri-food and rural sectors.
