Condemnation of Portuguese colonial policy by the Swedish Government

On October 10, 1969, the Swedish Government publicly condemned Portugal's colonial policy in Africa, criticizing the practices of the Estado Novo regime and expressing solidarity with the liberation movements. Sweden reinforced economic and diplomatic support for organizations such as Frelimo, in Mozambique, and PAIGC, in Guinea-Bissau, which were fighting for the independence of Portuguese colonies.
