Bento de Góis

Bento de Góis (born in 1562 and died April 11, 1607) was a notable Portuguese Jesuit and explorer. He led an epic overland expedition from India to China, definitively proving to Europeans that the mythical kingdom of Cathay was, in fact, the vast Chinese Empire.
