Battle of Mactan

Historic combat in the Philippines (then named Islands of Saint Lazarus by the explorer). Portuguese navigator Ferdinand Magellan, leader of the first circumnavigation expedition of the globe, dies in combat. The historic voyage would later be completed by Juan Sebastián Elcano.
