Artur Varatojo

Portuguese criminologist, writer, and lecturer, widely considered the pioneer and greatest popularizer of criminal investigation and forensic sciences in Portugal. Founder of the Porto Institute of Criminology and the Lisbon Crime Museum, he authored more than thirty literary works of investigation and historical essay. He died on October 28, 2006, at the age of 80, at the Santa Cruz Hospital in Carnaxide.
