Antonio de Macedo

António de Macedo, Portuguese filmmaker, writer and university professor. He was one of the most active directors of the New Portuguese Cinema, standing out for exploring genre and fantastic cinema. Author of films such as "Domingo à Tarde" (1965), "As Horas de Maria" (1979) and "Os Abismos da Meia-Noite" (1982). He also dedicated himself to fantastic literature and academic research on cinema. He passed away in Lisbon on October 5, 2017 at the age of 86.
