António Botto

António Botto (born August 17, 1897, and died March 16, 1959) was a daring Portuguese poet and playwright. A prominent figure of modernism, the publication of his poetic work "Canções" shocked the conservative society of the time, but immortalized him for his literary courage in exploring aesthetics and homoerotic desire.
