Antoine-Laurent de Jussieu

Antoine-Laurent de Jussieu (born April 12, 1748, and died September 17, 1836) was a masterful French botanist. Breaking with Linnaeus's system, Jussieu devised the principles of the natural plant classification system, laying the structural and familial foundations of contemporary botany.
