Ana de Castro Osório
Ana de Castro Osório, Portuguese writer, journalist, feminist and republican activist. A pioneer in defending women's rights in Portugal, she published "Às Mulheres Portuguesas" in 1905, considered the first Portuguese feminist manifesto. Founder of the Republican League of Portuguese Women and the Feminist Study Group, she worked tirelessly for female emancipation, the right to vote and women's education. She was also an important author of children's literature, publishing numerous short stories and organizing the "Library for My Children". His activism contributed significantly to the approval of the Divorce Law in 1910. He died in Setúbal on March 23, 1935, aged 62.
