Bank of Lisbon Opening to the Public

The Bank of Lisbon, the first modern banking institution founded in Portugal after the Liberal Revolution of 1820, opens its doors to the public. In 1846, its merger with the Companhia Confiança Nacional gave rise to the Bank of Portugal.
