The American Museum of Natural History officially opens its doors to the public in New York City. Supported by Theodore Roosevelt Sr. and J. Pierpont Morgan, it began its trajectory in the Central Park Arsenal before expanding into one of the world's largest sanctuaries for the study of natural sciences.
