Anatole France (pseudonym of François-Anatole Thibault), French writer who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1921. Essayist, journalist and novelist, he was a member of the French Academy and stood out for his elegant style, refined irony and humanism. Among his most famous works are "The Crime of Silvestre Bonnard", "Penguin Island" and "The Gods Are Thirsty". His skeptical vision and social criticism influenced the intellectual thought of his time. He died in Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire on October 12, 1924, he was 80 years old.
