A former mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi made waves by becoming the youngest Prime Minister in Italy's history at age 39. Nicknamed "Il Rottamatore" (The Scrapper) for his desire to dismantle the old political guard, he eventually founded his own centrist party, Italia Viva. He remains one of the greatest and most unpredictable tactical strategists in parliament.
